Mark D’Arcy is VP, Chief Creative Officer at Facebook where he leads the company’s creative efforts to make advertising across Facebook and Instagram more relevant for people and more valuable for businesses. He joined Facebook in 2011 and today his team, Creative Shop, operates from 36 Facebook Offices and at every level of creative development and production.
Last year alone, they helped produce thousands of projects across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Oculus working with 80% of the world’s top 100 advertisers. Creative Shop works in partnership with nearly all major advertising holding groups and collaborates with independent creators, influencers, artists, production companies, media companies and technologists.
From partnering with product designers on new advertising surfaces and technologies to exploring and unlocking their potential through hackathons with agency partners and clients around the world, Creative Shop serves brand clients and the creative community alike. Working against a simple belief that “connected we can create anything,” the work these partnerships create is regularly recognized in the press and at leading award shows, including Cannes Lions, where Mark has served on the inaugural Innovation and 2016 Glass Lion juries. In addition to working with the world’s biggest marketers and best advertising agencies, Mark’s team also works to service of the next generation of start-ups creating tools, technology and creative training for millions of small and medium sized businesses so they can create campaigns that connect their businesses to the world with nothing more than their phone. In 2011, Mark helped establish the Facebook Awards to celebrate the best creative work being created for the platform and in 2012, he founded the Facebook Global Creative Council, an advisory group of some of the most influential voices in creative advertising. Mark is proud to serve on the board of Adcolor, the IFP, Independent Filmmaker Project and is the Co-Founder of the Creative Legion of Hudson, New York.
